transformation begins where resistance ends.

The Gentle Pause | Issue 1, 2026 | New Year

January arrives with a lot of voices—
asking who you’ll become, what you’ll change, how fast you’ll move.
Here, we begin differently.
Before clarity, before intention, before momentum,
there is a pause.
A soft place to arrive.
A moment to re-awaken to yourself—just as you are.

✦ PAUSE · Be Courageous, Seek Clarity, and Connect Back To You ✦

As part of this pause, you may want to take a quiet look at your CliftonStrengths report, if you have one nearby.

If you don’t have access to it—or never received a copy—just respond back to this email and I’d be glad to send it to you.

✦ SEE -Beginning The Year Through Your Strengths ✦

We don’t all enter a new year the same way.
Some of us feel it.
Some of us organize it.
Some of us want to include everyone.
Some of us want a clear path forward.
If any of these feel familiar, simply notice—no fixing required.

If Empathy is high for you
Remember, you are an ocean sponge – and when the ‘good’ feelings are present – you are light as a feather, but when the ‘bad’ feelings are present, you feel the heaviness – in your body, in your heart, and around you. So…you may be sensing the emotional tone of the year before you’ve named your own intentions.
You might feel tender, overwhelmed, or quietly aware of what others need.

Notice:
•where you’ve already been carrying more than your share
•what emotions are truly yours to bring forward
•how your sensitivity is information, not a burden
Awareness begins by separating what you feel from what you’re responsible for.

If Developer is high for you
You’re naturally drawn to growth—especially the kind that unfolds slowly, over time. You are also drawn to giving others chances, over and over, because…
You notice effort. You see potential where others see “not yet.” Not just with yourself, but others.
As the year begins, you may feel hopeful and quietly impatient—aware of who you’re becoming, even if you’re not there yet.

Notice:
•where progress is already happening
•how far you’ve come, not just how far you want to go
•where encouragement would serve you better than pressure
Growth doesn’t need to be rushed to be real.

If Discipline is high for you
You may feel comforted by routines, structure, and a sense of order—especially in January. Get out the planner, get the app, stick to the schedule – make it happen. Others may not be on the same energy wave as you are, especially starting the New Year, so you might also feel unsettled if things feel undefined or slow.

Notice:
•where structure supports you
•where rigidity may be adding pressure
•how much is “helpful rhythm” versus “should”
Clarity doesn’t require perfection—only alignment.

If Includer is high for you
You may be thinking about who belongs, who’s been left out, and how to bring people along with you into the year. You might hesitate to begin if others aren’t ready. If you have high includer and high empathy – just remember, you are NOT responsible for other people’s yesses or no’s.

Notice:
•whose voice you’re prioritizing over your own
•where belonging begins with self-inclusion
•how it feels to let your needs count first
You don’t have to bring everyone with you to begin.

If Focus is high for you
You may already be looking ahead—naming goals, directions, and what matters most. You may have blinders on to others and their needs. You might feel frustrated by distraction or slow starts.
This isn’t bad, it just is – pause a moment to see with the blinders off every once in a while and take note of what you SEE.

Notice:
•what truly deserves your attention this season
•where narrowing your focus brings relief
•what can wait without being lost
Direction becomes clearer when you allow the path to unfold gently.

If Arranger is high for you
You may be holding multiple moving parts at once—reordering, reshaping, adjusting as life shifts. You may have done this 20x already as you start the new year. You might feel both energized and stretched.

Notice:
•where your flexibility is serving you
•where constant adjusting is exhausting
•what would happen if one thing stayed simple
You don’t have to optimize everything at once.

If Harmony is high for you
You may be seeking calm, peace, and emotional steadiness as the year begins.
You might avoid tension or postpone decisions to keep things smooth.

Notice:
•where peace is nourishing
•where avoiding conflict is costing you clarity
•how honesty can coexist with harmony
True harmony often begins inside. Take a moment during your week for an hour of quiet, call it quiet hour, peace hour, me time – whatever you need to honor that voice inside.

✦ BREATHE · Making Space ✦

Once you’ve noticed what’s here,
allow yourself to make a little space for it.

Space without fixing.
Space without urgency.
Space without needing to name the next step.

This is the place where you stop holding everything so tightly.
Where you loosen your grip on expectations—yours and everyone else’s.

You don’t need to rush clarity.
You don’t need to resolve what you see.
Simply let there be room:
for unfinished thoughts,
for becoming,
for the version of you that’s still unfolding.

Making space is not passive.
It’s an act of trust.

Stay here a moment longer than feels comfortable.
That’s often where something gentle begins to shift.

✦ Grow – Carrying Forward What Matters ✦

Growth doesn’t arrive all at once.

It begins quietly—often in the moments where you give yourself room to listen.
If you find yourself standing at the edge of a new year with more questions than answers, let that be okay.

Clarity often unfolds in conversation, reflection, and being met with kindness.
You don’t have to map the entire year.

You only need to notice what’s asking for your attention now.

So, for the next two weeks – January 4 → January 17 (Sprint 1, 2026), PAUSE, SEE, BREATHE, and GROWTH will emerge – you will become more aware, you will begin honoring you and what feels right to you!
_______________________________
Honoring your strengths often brings clarity—not because you need fixing, but because you’re returning to who you already are.

With loving grace, kindness, and joy,
Stacy
